Hello!
I'm Edward &.
I'm a Software and AI engineer based in Norman, Oklahoma. I've spent the better part of my career coding software and data engineering. I've been thinking a lot about how AI is affecting my field and basically how we can integrate it into practical solutions.
Right now I'm focused on AI Engineering and how to integrate it with application stacks. I'll write here to persist ideas, share what I'm learning, and leave a paper trail for my future self.
Outside of coding, I spend my free time mountain biking with my son, remodeling my house, and playing retro video games with friends at the local brewery. If you want to get in touch, the best way is through my LinkedIn profile.
Career
Currently working on the internal enterprise AI transformation team at IBM developing MCP tools and resources for agent AI workflows. Led design and implementation of multiple modernization projects for Delta Airlines. Refactoring core applications and architecture to suit modern cloud computing in AWS. Led deployment and management of the privacy sandbox project for Google. Worked with Google across application stacks and SRE teams, with a focus on automation and observabilty in GCP.
Sleeves-rolled-up technical leadership of a small team for a mobile/web platform that was designed around leveraging machine learning . Every artifact in the system from end to end is specifically designed and built for realtime stateless data and robust enough to facilitate offline modal data at the same time.
This group was the first in UT System history to build an internal engineering organization and deliver cutting edge mobile technology to underserved communities. It was incredible to be a part the effort that changed so many lives and communities in south Texas. Probably the proudest that I've ever been professionally. President Barack Obama actually came to visit us in Austin about our work and and asked for us to send a group of the students to meet with him at the White House. Which we did. Damn, he is so cool. I'm still very emotional about this one.
This is the old stuff that probably isn't very relevant anymore. I coded C/C++...blah...blah...AsyncComm...blah...blah...Embedded... Assembly...blah...blah...Btree...TASM...16bit...32bit...operating systems... Borland...blah...XModem...PGSQL...DDL...blah...DB2...blah...blah... Encryption...blah...Java...blah...blah...Mobile...Web...blah... Oh yeah, I was a principal solutions architect at Blockbuster during its peak and its fall... But that's a story for another day.
